Yes Democrats, you all played a part in creating this storm. Let’s talk about how you all created this crisis that you’re in with Joe Biden. You may think it just started with the recent debate performance that didn’t go as well as Biden would have liked, but in actuality, it started way before that.

2020

Let’s look at the 2020 election. There were concerns about Biden’s age then, largely due to the fact that at the end of the 2020 term, Biden would be 82 years old, which would be rather old for a president to start a four year term. According to a Politico article (4), there were discussions as to whether Biden should only serve one term back then. Even some of his own advisors wanted him to only serve one term. However, Biden did not come out and make a definitive statement to say that he would only serve one term. One thing that I give the Democrats credit for is that they play the long game (which is a big part of the reason for open borders, but that’s a different discussion). However, they dropped the ball on this one. If you wanted Trump out of office, a good plan would have been to let Biden run for the first term while grooming someone else to take the spot in the next term. It would have been good to announce the plan to the public so the whole party including the voters can get on board. Instead, you all chose to be vague about plans for 2024. Now everyone sees Biden isn’t what he used to be and now you all are panicking.

Kamala Harris

Speaking of 2020, let’s look at the VP pick Kamala Harris. Yes, there were other picks available with relevant experience but a big part of the reason that she was picked wasn’t necessarily because of her political prowess but because she would appeal to “voters of color” because she was a “Black woman” (even though in 2016, somehow she was Indian but that’s a different discussion). Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid noted how this influenced Biden’s decision when speaking with the New York Times (3).  Now what do you have? Although she was used to pull in votes in 2020, her favorability rating is in the tank right along with Biden’s. According to a Politico article, Kamala’s favorability among those polled was at 42 percent which is one point under Biden’s 43 percent (5). This means that the party does not even have a VP that could be used as a backup plan that has a legitimate shot at beating Trump. Even Biden himself has yet to throw his support behind Kamala. Yet another way that Democrats screwed themselves.

Biden’s Health/Mental Fitness

Can we talk about how Republicans as well as the general public have been questioning Biden’s cognition and general health for several years only to be gaslighted by the Democrat party to believe that he was fine? For example, even his own press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dodged questions about Biden’s age and overall health in a press conference just before his State of the Union address (1). Why try to discount what the public is seeing with their own eyes? Why not be honest with the public? Why not at least be honest with yourselves and admit that Biden was having some issues and be proactive in preparing another successor? Now, because the party has chosen not to be honest with the public or even themselves, they all are stuck with a president that can barely get through one debate and they have to scramble to find a last minute replacement.

Primary Debates?

And what about the primary debates? Oh that’s right, you all didn’t have one. Don’t you think the people should be able to hear the voices of ALL candidates? I mean you all are the ones that claim that Trump is the one that is a threat to democracy right? Would it not be in the best interest of said democracy to let all voices be heard? Yes, it may be somewhat of a tradition that there is no primary when an incumbent is in office (2), but maybe that’s something that should change. And to not even have a debate while putting all of your eggs in the rickety dilapidated basket that is Joe Biden?

You all screwed yourselves.
